The E-Trading Summit delights Lagos

12 April, 2019

FXTM’s Head of Education in Nigeria, Conrad Okongwu, visited Lagos, Nigeria, for two seminars and a workshop as part of his highly successful E-Trading & Investment Summit series. These educational events are designed for investors wishing to develop their existing forex knowledge and advance their trading skills.

The summit began at the Citiheight Hotel, Opebi, with an interactive seminar on 15 March. The turnout exceeded all expectations, with close to 300 eager traders excited to hear from our acclaimed market educator.

Over the course of the day, participants discovered:

  • How to get started as a forex trader
  • All about FXTM’s wide array of products and services
  • The benefits of our innovative copy trading programme, FXTM Invest.

There was also a chance for participants to ask Conrad their most pressing industry questions, as well as numerous networking opportunities. The enthusiasm was palpable and it was great to meet so many new faces. The day ended with a lucky draw, where 2 of our guests each won a brand-new Android phone while other participants went home with some FXTM giveaways. A second seminar exploring the same topics was held the next day at the same location and was equally as successful.

FXTM’s Market Research Analyst Lukman Otunuga also joined these two seminars, where he delivered a fascinating presentation to guests on key subjects including:

  • The Nigerian economy post-elections
  • The US economy and what it currently means for the Dollar
  • Brexit and its impact on Q2
  • A look at Gold prices and potential drivers in the upcoming quarter
  • Oil’s impact on both the Naira and Nigeria’s growth prospects.

Lukman’s insights were extremely well-received and encouraged a great deal of discussion and debate amongst the inspired audience.

A three-day workshop followed from 19-21 March at the FXTM Lagos Office in Ikeja, where attendees were able to delve even deeper into the world of trading.

Topics covered included:

  • Trading terminology
  • Trading platforms
  • Japanese Candlesticks
  • Resistance and Support
  • Moving Average Strategies
  • Risk management, and much more!

The workshop concluded with practical sessions, which enable guests to practice their new skills and strategies with Conrad on hand to help!

The FXTM team would like to thank everybody who helped to make this event such a terrific success.
