Taiwan stocks edge down at close of trade

On Wednesday, Taiwan stocks traded lower after the close, as losses in the,Cement and Cement & Glass sectors brought shares down.

The Taiwan Weighted slumped 0.46%.

The best performers of the trading session on the Taiwan Weighted included Mag Tech with its 10% rise at 7.59, Epileds Tech with its 9.96% soar at 25.40 and Para growing 9.91% at 7.21.

As for the worst performers of that trading session, we should mention Crowell, tumbling 8.05% to 7.20,  Tainan Cayman, descending  7.14% to 6.500 and Mirle Auto, sinking 6.81% to 43.80.

Dropping stocks managed to outperform growing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 467 to 301, while 85 remained intact.

Shares in Epileds Tech went up to 52-week peaks, ascending 9.96% or 2.30 to 25.40.  Besides this, stocks in Para grew to 52-week peaks, up 9.91% or 0.65 to 7.21.

The currency pair USD/TWD headed north 0.03%, hitting 31.725, while TWD/CNY was intact being worth 0.2102.

The US Dollar Index edged up 0.02%, trading at 96.07.
