FXTM’s Chief Market Strategist (Gulf & MENA) Hussein Sayed took a high-profile role at the 2nd Annual MENA Investment Congress in February, 2019.
Organised by the CFA Society Emirates, the MENA Investment Congress brings together experts across a range of financial specialities to explore the new investment strategies and changing opportunities that can be found in the region.
The congress began with several pre-event workshops on Wednesday, 20 February, where senior investment professionals and industry experts discussed topical issues, including the use of artificial intelligence technology in asset management.
On 21 February, Hussein took the lead at one of the highlights of the congress, moderating a panel entitled ‘Hunting returns through alternative investments and private asset classes.’
The topics up for debate included:
- Private markets vs private equity: the short, mid and long-term assessment and where the greatest gains lie
- Understanding the increasing popularity of alternative investment classes by Middle East investors
- With fierce competitions and rich valuations, attractive deals are becoming harder to find – what are the most attractive opportunities regionally and globally?
