They SUCK - they seem real professional upfront, but they pull every trick in the book, I'm not kidding open a demo & you'll make $$ open a real account and you'll be broke with-in 100 trades!

\"If you all are looking for a broker that doesnt do all the bad things that FXCM does and has fixed, tighter and fair market spreads... go to IFX Markets and ask for Jacob.\" Sounds like an ad for IFX. What a way to promote business. First of all FXCM has the No Dealing Desk option, in addition to the dealing desk option, in addition to the Currenex platform. I can even switch between them if I want and no one will bother me.

Great customer service, perhaps good for a beginner. But for serious traders there's a lot left to be desired.

I have been with FXCM for a while now. I stay with them for 2 reasons, rollover rates and customer service. I have experienced slippage, but during news, which the equity market taught me is more than normal, and not as much slippage as I experienced at forex.com, which by the way happens at the most ridiculous times. Anyway, FXCM has my business, and I really dont see anyone taking it away.

FXCM has several platforms for news traders. If you ask them for PropFX you can get a tighter spread. They also have a no dealing desk platform for trading on news. Don't complain, use the right platform.

FXCM try to be all things to all men but don't seem to realise that a Company needs to focus on its strengths and build on these to gain competitive advantage. Their biggest failing is that they spike prices during volatile market times while maintaining a fixed spread. Barely credible! They don't act in the interests of their clients and are apparently crap in terms of relationships with their IBs. I am now of the opinion that smaller IBs are the way forward for new traders, so long as they don't charge any commission, as they act in the interests of a smaller client base and a cleint can benefit more from them. Brokerage firms are two a penny but strong customer relationship policies are not.

I first traded forex with FXCM. After couple of months, I decided to find better brokers. Because FXCM has terrible execution, especially during news release. As big as FXCM is as a retail FX broker, it is ashamed that its trading platform is just so mediocre. A forex trader has enough to deal with that he/she really does not need to worry about poor platform execution or calling in to deal with the dealing desk. I suggest newbies to forget about FXCM and go find a better broker.

FXCM has put my account on manual trading after I started trading news profitably.

Not only that, now I'm observing that the manual entry is always disadvantaged by 2 PIPs (thus taking the standard spread on GBPUSD from 5 PIPs to 7 PIPs).

Also, FXCM does not allow me to close the trade at market price if price is moving against them. I get 'Data not found', 'Waiting for dealer', 'Your order didn't execute 'cause price moved' kind of messages, though the FXCM platform keeps on showing the same price..

No point in talking w reps as they've cookie-cutter responses. I was thinking of starting a large account with FXCM, but not now...

If you are new and are trading volatile times, stay away from FXCM
