What is an IB brokerage account?

An IB brokerage account, also known as Introducing Broker account, is the account that an IB opens to gain access to all the features that a forex IB program offers. Acting as the middleman, the Introducing Broker tries to match a client seeking access to the financial markets with a brokerage that is willing to complete the transaction. Part of the IBs’ responsibility is to provide valuable information regarding the forex market, as well as give access to the latest platforms, accounts and tools. To do this, one needs to open an account with a reliable broker that caters for most of their clients’ needs.

How to open an Introducing Broker account with a broker?

IBs can open an account with a brokerage through the broker’s dedicated IB page, through a Landing Page or though emails and ads. Once you register, you can access a dedicated portal from where you can access advanced marketing material including banners, landing pages, tailored templates as well as e-books, video tutorials, trading workshops or webinars.

With some brokers, opening an Introducing Broker account is as fast as creating a Gmail account, whereas with some others it takes longer as there are more background checks in place. IB brokerage accounts are usually free of charge.

Benefits of an IB account

Most IB programs are designed to reach maximum performance and quality. The end-goal is to give Introducing Brokers maximum potential for increased revenue and rebates so as to have a competitive advantage within the industry. When opening an account with a brokerage, you gain access to everything they represent. So, try to choose a broker with a good market reputation and multiple awards. The better the reputation, the more reliable the broker and their network will probably be.

Regarding your onboarding, try to go with a broker that provides a fast and easy registration and onboarding process. As already mentioned, there are some brokers whose registration process takes less than a minute.

More Benefits: Portal and customer support

Once your register an account with a brokerage, you will normally be redirected to the dedicated partners portal where you can keep track and monitor your performance and receive accurate and transparent reporting regarding your referrals. Most of the time, these portals are optimised and have a user-friendly interface so that users can easily navigate and handle them.

Additionally, partnering with a broker means that you and your clients have access to full professional client support, whenever you want, in multiple languages, 24/5.

What to look for in a forex brokerage

It is necessary that you partner with a forex brokerage that you are comfortable with and whom you respect, trust and share mutual interests. Once you’ve dealt with this, the rest is up to good will and work. You will need to establish your network, keep referring clients and maintain your reputation.
